This week on the show Kyle and Matthew are joined the the hilarious and delightful Jessie Johnson to chat about Target. Yeah, it's a big box store and big corporations are the devil but work with us here, there's some good riffs and a lot of shared experiences about the weirdness of consistency walking through a Target. There is a lot a lot of talk about Arizona, where Jessie grew up and got her start in comedy. There is also talk about the fun and free games you and your friends make when you are all broke. Plus on the intro there is kind of an impromptu state of the union for the video game industry and Matthew has some interesting observations. Overall, fun times with fun people. Enjoy!

Rad on, Rad off. This week on the show, Kyle, Matthew, and Laura sit down with the brilliant Kate Gaffney to talk about her favorite movie of all time The Karate Kid. This is the first time we've chatted with Kate on land, but you might remember her from last summer's boat episode. The Karate Kid is kinda a perfect storm for this group. The movie combines fun 80's montages, life lessons, dating, family dynamics, and heaping helpings of sweet sweet shots of the San Fernando Valley in the 1980's. They talk about how well cast the movie is and in general how the movie is better and more emotional than it has any right to be. And yeah, they talk about the sequels and re-makes too. Fun times. Just remember this everybody: You're the best around and nothing's ever gonna keep you down.

We have returned as the prophecy has foretold. Kyle and Matthew welcome back Anna Valenzuela and Jenny Chalikian for the third installment of their ongoing retrospective of the Battlestar Galactica reboot. This time they take a look at season two and in the process learn that a lot of stuff they thought was from season two is actually season three and instead season two is full of crazy stuff they almost forgot. This gets intense. Kyle and Anna excitedly yell a lot. We praise Grace Park for playing two charters who look exactly and yet feel entirely different from one another. We breakdown why the Chief is maybe the most complex character. We continue our campaign to elect Laura Roslin present of everything forever. Plus, after so much talk, it has finally arrived: FAT APOLLO enters the series!

Pizza in the morning. Pizza in the evening. Pizza at supper time. When pizza is the subject of your podcast, you can have pizza anytime. Did I do that for the last pizza episode? I was gonna check but then I didn't and now here we are. This week on the show Kyle and Matthew welcome writer/comedian Matt Dwyer to the show. Besides being one of the darkest and funniest writers Kyle knows he's also become an excellent pizza chef in the last few years. Matt hails from Chicago and after our amazing episode with Steve Simone about proper New York pizza we felt it was only fair to get the second city's view on making a proper pizza. We get into some intresting territory about the lesser known approaches to pizza and Kyle learns to gain an appreciation for proper Chicago style deep dish pizza. If you are like him and have your doubts this is worth a listen. This is probably not a good episode to listen to while hungry cause it's mostly us just talking about how delicious food is. We also get into some great tangents about Tom Waits, Jerry Stahl, and the evils of corporate culture. Yeah, on the pizza episode.
Note: We tried an experiment with the way we opened the episode. We started and then Kyle realized that we could do the intro and the episode as one track (less editing!). So if you seem real confused, we were just trying something for the sake of trying it, fear not, we'll be back to normal format next week. Order shall be preserved and there will again be peace and freedom in the galaxy....
Weekly Rads: Matthew – The Perfect Bid (documentary on Amazon Prime)
Kyle – 5 Below (store) and Boyfriend (rapper)
Dwyer – Coleman Hawkins (jazz musician) and Arbitrary Stupid Goal by Tarmara Shopsin (book)
