This Is Rad!

This week Kyle and Matthew sit down with actor and return guest Matt Bennett to talk about the late, great musician David Bowie. Well, that was the intent of this episode, but needless to say, they go off on a lot of tangents. That's just what happens when Kyle and Matt get to chattin' about music. They start at "Black Star" and work their way backwards through Bowie's albums, discussing the artistry he left in his wake. Look out for Matt Bennett's Lou Reed/Robin Williams inspired album "Terminal Cases" out in June!

This week Kyle and Matthew sit down with the totally tubular Tom Sibley (of the "We Watch Wrestling" podcast) to discuss Skateboarding (and since they're recording during the Super Bowl, the Super Bowl half time show as well). Tom reminiscences about his youth as a chubby skateboarder pushing mongo style and hanging out at Tara Reid's house, Burnside reminisces about doing headstands in Ohio, Kyle reminisces about being too awkward and tall to skateboard, and Natalie has asthma. Stay tuned to the very end to hear a special review of Taco Bell's new Quesalupa from Becky Joiner!

This week Kyle, Matthew and Producer Natalie sit down with writer/podcaster Steven Ray Morris to talk about his obsession with trading cards...along with action figures and the world of collectibles at large. Kyle and Steven instantly bond over their love of Michael Crichton. It's one thing for two adult men to bond over a love of dinosaurs, but things really get cute/sexy/sad when they go off on a tangent about “Congo.” Burnside expresses his love for hiding stuff in people's rooms. Kyle thinks Magic: The Gathering gets people laid. And Natalie is real amused by C-3PO's boner. Plus tips for how to get started collecting!  Check out Steven's trading card unboxing videos on youtube.com/stevenraymorris, his podcast The Purrrcast, and his book Molding a Jurassic Universe.

Clifford has read all the books a zillion times over, while Justin got into it by watching the movies. They join forces to talk about the films from the first Hobbit movie to the modern-day remakes (with a detour to discuss Ralph Bakshi). They also discuss Professor J. R. R. Tolkien and his invention of languages, as well as The Silmarillion, and of course, the Beatles movie that never was. Watch Clifford and Justin on "TORn Tuesday" every Tuesday afternoon at 5pm PST on theonering.net or call them anytime at 1-530-6-4FRODO. You can also catch Clifford on ShopXSN.com.
