This week Kyle and Matthew are joined by the delightful and hilarious Andy Iwacio for a chat about the beat em up genre of video games. This classic genre has some great weirdness to explore. From mohawks to the eating food out of trashcans for heath, the beat em up's influence is still felt today in games like God of War and Dark Souls. Plus, we discuss the fine art of the DJ drop. Ladies and gentlemen please strap in because on this episode we are going on a journey that spans the entire universe and more than 40,000 years! This week Kyle and Matthew are joined by comedian Dave Apkarian for a chat about the lore behind the popular tabletop game Warhammer 40k. Dave has gotten into miniature painting and Kyle has been fascinated by David's new hobby. After a few off mic discussion about how the Warhammer lore is pretty cool they decided an episode was in order. This is one of those episodes where Kyle and Matt hand Dave the keys and let him drive. And he sure takes us places. If you have no idea what Warhammer 40k is about (and we sure had no idea...) then this is a great primer. I'm sure it'll spark some corrections and conversations and that's half the fun of the ep. We want to eventually do separate episode on miniature painting and the game itself as well. So snuggle up and let Sad Dad Dave tell us all an epic tale from beyond the stars!

This week Kyle and Matt welcome back musician Eric Bryan for a chat about one of horrors most underrated directors Stuart Gordon. Sure, we all love Reanimator, and with good reason, it's awesome. But Gordon has an impressively consistent back catalogue. They explore how his years working in theater impacted his work in film. From the actors he worked with to the ways he pushed his budgets so his films always feel ambitious even when they were made for nothing, Stuart Gordon is a perfect example of how to do a lot with a little. Plus you get some riffs on basketball, the evolution of metal in the last 10 years, and dogs. A good old fashion rad and a little bit of Radtober in springtime.
